Cloth Care Guide
Proper care helps preserve the quality, colour, shape, and overall appearance of your garments. Always check the care label attached to each product before washing or cleaning.
1. Sort Before Washing
Separate light and dark colours to reduce the risk of colour transfer. Garments should also be grouped by fabric type, as delicate materials may require different washing conditions from heavier fabrics.
2. Treat Stains Carefully
Treat stains as soon as possible using a suitable fabric-safe stain remover. Avoid excessive rubbing, as this may damage fibres or affect the appearance of the fabric.
For delicate or speciality fabrics, professional cleaning is recommended.
3. Use the Correct Water Temperature
Always follow the garment care label.
- Cold water: Recommended for delicate fabrics, dark colours, prints, lawn, cambric, silk, and garments prone to shrinkage.
- Warm water: Suitable for many everyday garments.
- Hot water: Best reserved for durable fabrics where specifically recommended.
4. Use Detergent Moderately
Use a mild detergent and follow the recommended quantity according to the size of your wash load.
Excess detergent may leave residue on garments and can affect the fabric’s appearance and feel over time.
5. Use Fabric Softener Carefully
Avoid excessive use of fabric softener, particularly on delicate or absorbent fabrics. When required, use a small amount according to the product instructions.
6. Dry with Care
Correct drying helps garments retain their shape and colour.
- Air-dry delicate garments whenever possible.
- Dry knitwear and garments prone to stretching on a flat surface.
- Keep coloured garments away from prolonged direct sunlight.
- If using a tumble dryer, follow the garment’s care instructions and select the appropriate setting.
7. Dry Clean When Required
Some delicate, embellished, tailored, or speciality fabrics may require professional dry cleaning.
Always follow instructions marked “Dry Clean Only” to help protect the garment from shrinkage, colour damage, or loss of shape.
Important Care Advice
Care requirements may vary depending on fabric, colour, embroidery, embellishments, printing, and garment construction. Always follow the care instructions provided on the individual garment label for the best results.
